截止至3月20日，美國標準普爾500指數已經從最高點下跌32%
工作中我們經常需要發各種報表，一定會用到如「截止到今天的數據」「截止到昨天的數據」「截止到3月21日的數據」這樣的說法。
這個「截止到…」英語怎麼說呢？
有人用by：
- Please provide the data by today(X）。
這是什麼鬼，是表示「請今天之前提供數據」好嗎？
也不是until，更不是deadline。
我們先來說「截止到今天」。
很好辦，就是到目前為止，那就是so far。
還有一個你可能想不到的表達是 to date，出現的頻率非常高，也容易讓人摸不著頭腦，因為沒有出現today，但這裡的date默認就是指說話時的date，= so far。
- Please provide the data to date。
- 請提供截止到今天的數據。
- confirmed cases to date
- 目前為止所有確診病例。
- To date, we have yet to receive any feedback.
- 目前我們還沒收到任何反饋。
- Please ship me all stock you have to date.
- 請把你目前所有的庫存品都寄給我。
和to date搭配的使用的還有下面這些詞組，都是商務英語裡很最常見的搭配：
- MTD = month to date 從本月初開始截止到今天
- YTD= year to date 從年初開始截止到今天
比如
- sales MTD ：本月累計銷量
- earnings YTD：今年累計收益
- growth YTD：今年1-11月的增長（假設現在是12月，由於經濟數據每月統計一次，YTD一般指截止到最新一次統計）
好了，問題來了，那「截止到昨天」，「截止到XX日」，怎麼說呢，難不成說to yesterday, to XX（date）？
商務英語裡最標準的說法是是用 as of 表示截止到某一天。
例：
- Attached please find the data as of yesterday.
- 附件是截止到昨天的數據。
- Please send me the invoices as of the end of last month.
- 把截止到上個月的發票發給我。
- As of 3/15, what are our total sales?
- 截止到3月15，我們的總銷量是多少？
國外媒體制作的信息圖裡，一般都會備註數據截止到XX日，就是用 as of XX（date），如下圖。
當然，as of today = to date。
還可以用 as of now表示 到現在為止。
例：
- We are having a tough year, but as of now, we are still the biggest player of the market.
- 雖然今年對我們來說是困難的一年，但目前我們市場佔有率依然保持第一。
值得注意的是，as of在實際使用中有兩種意思，既可以是起點截止到參考點(from beginning to …） ，也可以是從參考點作為一個起點往後開始(starting from …）= from XX（date） on，要根據上下文來理解。
例：
- The regulation takes effect as of today.
- 本規定即日起生效。
- He will be no longer here as of 3/29.
- 他從3月20日起將不會在這裡了。
- You are officially my wife as of today.
- 從今天開始，你就正式成為我的妻子。
