中文裡說到人與人的關係時，常常會用到“緣分”一詞，所謂有緣千里來相會，無緣對面不相逢。如此玄妙的緣分用英文怎麼表達呢？
01、“緣分”英文怎麼說？
英語裡沒有準確對應緣分的單詞，提到緣分，會使用fate或者destiny [ˈdestəni]這兩者都可以表達“命運”的意思
即一切都是命中註定的，它們可用來形容愛情，友情等範疇的緣分。
例：
①It's the fate／destiny that brought us together.
是緣分讓我們走到了一起。
②James left Sara four years ago, but destiny brought them back together.
四年前James和Sara分手了，但緣分讓他們重新走到了一起。
如果是情侶，當有人問：
How did you get together?
你們是怎麼在一起的？
想要表達是緣分讓我們自然而然的走到一起，可以這樣說：
in the right place at the right time
在對的地點和對的時間
總在恰當的時間，恰好的地點然後遇上對的人，這也許就是緣分的使然
例：
A: How did you guys fall in love？
你倆是什麼好上的？
B: I guess we were just in the right place at the right time.
我覺得我們是在對的時間對的地點，遇到了對的人。
有情人終成眷屬，下面我們來學學如何表達“結婚了”
02、“結婚了”英文怎麼說？
①get married
例：
Prince Harry got married last month.
英國的哈里王子上個月結婚了。
②be married.
因為get married是瞬間的動作，不能表示狀態，如果要表達“結婚多少年了”，可以用be married for+時間段
例：
Mom and dad has been married for thirty-six years.
爸爸媽媽已經結婚36年了。
③tie the knot
tie the knot 字面意思是：打個結，在俚語中的喻義是永結同心，表示結婚
例：
Jack has tied the knot with his childhood sweetheart.
Jack娶了他的青梅竹馬。
（childhood sweetheart 青梅竹馬）
有緣的戀人能走進婚姻的殿堂，而緣分不夠的人很可能中途就分手了。
03、“分手”英文怎麼說？
①break up
My girlfriend had broken up with me.
我的女朋友已跟我分手了。
②split up
I split up with my boyfriend last year.
我去年和男友分手了。
③part v. 離開; 分別
They parted with reluctance.
他們依依不捨地分手了。
④dump
如果想表達“被甩了”，可以用dump
I was dumped.
我被甩了

04、關於“finish和complete的區別”
這兩個單詞都可以表達“完成”，finish和complete的區別，2012年，在倫敦舉行的語言大賽中，一位名叫Samsunder 的選手回答
“你如何更好地解釋complete與finish的區別”時是這樣回答的：
When you marry the right woman, you are complete.When you marry the wrong woman, you are finished.
娶對老婆，你這人生也就完整了。 娶錯老婆，你這輩子就完了。
