相信大家都學過There be句型，There be這個句型在日常生活中經常用到，不管是天上飛的還是水裡遊的，還是路上跑的都會用到，比如說There is a pig flying in the sky. 天上飛著一隻豬。 嗯？，好像不對，豬不會飛，但是這句話好像又非常熟悉，記得雷軍曾說過，站在風口豬都會飛，並且還有一套飛豬理論，你們說對嗎？

很多學員都學過there be 句型，但是知道there is/are , 這並不是這個知識點的全部，今天我們來全新新認識一下There be.
一、初步認識there be句型
1、什麼是there be 句型
概念：表示某處、某時存在、有某物時，用there be 句型。如：
There is a cat under the table.桌子下有一隻貓。
There are two women in the living room.客廳有兩個女人。
There was a heavy rain yesterday.昨天有一場大雨。
2、There be 句型的否定結構
只需在is/ are加not即可構成否定。
注：is not可縮寫為isn`t; are not 可縮寫為aren`t.
There is not a passport.
There are not policewomen.
3、There be 句型的一般疑問句
there be 句型的一般疑問句的構成方法：只需把be（is/are）提到句首（首字母大寫），其餘照抄，句末打問號即可。
操練：把下面的句子變為一般疑問句
1）There is a thirsty boy. →Is there a thirsty boy?
2）There are two white handbags. →Are there two white handbags?
there be 句型的肯定與否定回答
肯定回答：Yes ，There is/are.
否定回答：No ，there isn`t /aren`t.

二、There be 句型中的主謂一致問題
在There be句型中，有若干個用作主語的名詞並列時，動詞be的單複數應該和離動詞be最近的那個名詞保持一致，這叫“臨近原則”或“相鄰原則”。
看下面的句子：
There is a book, an eraser and three pencils on the desk. 桌子上有一本書，一塊橡皮和三支鉛筆。
句中有a book, an eraser and three pencils三個並列的名詞共同做主語，按理說謂語be應該使用複數are，但是確實用了單數is。為什麼？
如果把上句中的三個並列的名詞中的複數形式的主語three pencils放在離動詞be後，句子就變成了：
There are three pencils, a book and an eraser and three pencils on the desk. 桌子上有三支鉛筆，一本書和一塊橡皮和三支鉛筆。
明顯發現動詞be就變成了複數的are，而不是單數的is。

三、在There be 句型中的介詞
there be 句型中在句末一般應該有表示“在某個地點”或“在某個時間”的介詞短語。似乎大家只知道介詞in, on和under等，但是在實際英語環境裡，還有很多介詞，這些介詞包括：（1）表示範圍大小的有：at, in, on, about, among, within等；（2）表示涉及到位置關係的有：near, by, in, on, at, around, beyond， beside, inside, outside, under等。
There is no one about the playground.（about表示範圍大小）
There is a post office along the street. （along表示沿襲，順著）
There are two books and a pencil on the table. （on表示位置）
There is a telegraph pole at the top of the hill. （at表示小位置、小地點）
There are many factories around the city. （around表示環形區域）
There must be a lot of raw oil below the surface of the earth. （below表示“在……下”）
Is there any room beside you?（beside表示左右位置）
Is there any information desk near the station? （near表示距離定位）
Is there a cat under the table?（under表示垂直方向）

四、There be 句型中的動詞有哪些？
學員們在學習There be句型中似乎只認識動詞be表示存在，其實在英語裡有很多動詞也可以使用在There be句型中。這些動詞有：
（一）表示“存在”的動詞
1、exist: vi. 存在
There exist many ancient temples in Dengfeng City, Henan Province, such as Shaolin Temple, Zhongyue Temple, Songyue Temple, Fawang Temple, and so on. 河南省登封市有許多古老的寺廟，如少林寺、中嶽廟、松岳廟、法王廟等。
2、keep: vi. 保存（一般以被動句形式出現）
There kept five bottles of milk in the refrigerator. 冰箱裡有五瓶牛奶。
3、remain: vi. 保持；存在
There remained much rubbish after the rain. 雨後留下了許多垃圾。
4、rest: vi. 停留在；落在
There rested an owl in the tree. 樹上棲息著一隻貓頭鷹。
5、rise: vi. 出現；浮現
There rose some terrible feelings on his face. 他臉上流露出一些可怕的表情。
6、lie: vi. 躺；位於；淌
There lies a small stream between the two mountains. 在兩座山之間有一條小溪。
7、stay: vi. 保持；停留
There stays a sharp rise in pork prices these days in China. 這些天中國的豬肉價格一直在急劇上漲。
8、stand: vi. 存在；有
There stands an old castle on the hill. 山上有一座古堡。
9、sit: vi. （位置的）存在
There sits a monument in the center of the square. 廣場中央有一座紀念碑。
10、live: vi.
There lived a monk in the old temple on the top of the hill. 山頂上的古廟裡住著一個和尚。
因為There be 句型是表示“存在”的句型，所以不可避免會使用很多表示“存在”的動詞，這些動詞都是不及物動詞，其實都可以籠統地替換為動詞be，這樣是不是一下打消了你很多學習此句型的壓力？
（二）表示偶發事件的動詞
1、appear: vi. 出現
There appeared a tramp around the corner of the street. 在街角出現了一個流浪漢。
2、seem: vi. 似乎
There seemed something wrong with the car. 這輛車好像出了什麼問題。
3、occur: vi.（突然）發生
There occurred a car accident at the crossing. 在十字路口發生了一起車禍。
4、happen: vi. 偶然發生
There happened a sandstorm in the village. 村子裡發生了一場沙塵暴。
5、take place: vi. 發生
There has taken place great changes in my hometown since I left there ten years ago. 自從十年前我離開家鄉以來，我的家鄉發生了巨大的變化。
6、come: vi. 來；出現
There come a bus/ train. 有一輛公共汽車/火車來了。

五、There be句型在諺語、俗語中的應用
There is nothing I can do.愛莫能助
There is no man without faults.人無完人。
There is no use crying over spilt milk.覆水難收。
There is no royal road to learning.學無坦途。
There are many roads that lead to Rome.條條大路通羅馬。
Where there is smoke, there is fire.無風不起浪。（有煙必有火）
Where there is a will, there is a way.有志者事竟成。
