2012年5月10日，为了庆祝BBC苏格兰电视开播60周年，查尔斯夫妇特地去到英国北部的格拉斯哥，视察并慰问英国广播公司苏格兰总部。
对新闻播报颇有兴趣的他也体验了一把天气预报播报员的工作。一开始对捣鼓手里和身后的图像设备有些生疏的他，在短短时间内也进入了状态。一口老练的英国皇室腔调，播报了BBC为他特地写的一段稿子。
顺利念出了一串押韵的形容词和地名之后，不仅得意大呼：啊哈！
但随后更拗口的词语也接踵而至，虽然没有舌头打结，最终顺利念完的查尔斯也不禁吐槽：这破稿子谁写的？？（要被扣鸡腿了啊！）
因为稿件中写道：皇家度假胜地天气寒冷、交通不便等不友好的情况，他发出慨叹：幸好我没在放假！（不然这假期可咋过啊！）

Well, it's an unsettled picture as we head towards the end of the week. This afternoon, it'll be cold, wet and windy across most of Scotland.

We're under the influence of low pressure, and this weather front pushing northwards is bringing cloud and outbreaks of rain.

The rain, of course, will be heaviest over the bordersand around Edinburgh, where it could lead to difficult conditions on the roads.

In the west, rain will be lighter and patchier.There'll be maybe a few drier interludes over Dumfries House in Ayrshire. Aha!
