stake指“樁，火刑（柱）” be at stake 處於危險境地，處於成敗關頭

2. I‘m after the big game
我在做大事
game基本意思是”遊戲“，這裡指”獵物“；after跟be搭配變成be after形容”追逐，跟隨“，整句話直譯是”我在追逐一個大獵物“，就是說”我有大事要做，有大生意“，通常出自男性說的話。
I'm after the big game and will take it.
我在做大生意，很快會成。
Don's interrupt him and he's after a big game.
別煩他，他在跟一個大單子呢。

美式習語，an open book一本打開的書，人人都可以看，一目瞭然。形容人是an open book，指為人簡單，容易敞開心扉，毫不掩飾自己情緒，就像一池清泉的清澈。
