Maduro critic Fernando Albán falls to death from 10th floor

Venezuela’s opposition has accused the Maduro government of murder after a politician who was being interrogated over an alleged assassination attempt on the president fell to his death from a tenth-floor window at the headquarters of state security.

The government said that Fernando Albán, 56, had committed suicide. The city councillor was detained on Friday at the international airport in Caracas on his return from meetings at the United Nations general assembly, where he detailed human rights abuses in Venezuela.
