今年是豬年，小夥伴們知道“豬年”用英語怎麼說嗎？可能有同學會說，不就是"pig year"嘛，“豬”是“pig”沒有錯，但如果你把“豬年”翻譯為“pig year”，那就錯的很離譜哦！
在英語中，豬年的正確表達是Year of the Pig，或者：Year of the Boar.
Pig大家很熟悉，Boar有“野豬；公豬”的意思。
既然豬年不是Pig year，那狗年當然也就不能翻譯為“Dog year”了，“狗年”的正確表達是Year of the Dog.

2006年是中國農曆的狗年，也是中國股市否極泰來的一年。

dog person
先來說說“dog person”，不知道這個短語的同學第一反應可能覺得是在罵人，其實這個短語的意思是愛狗人士。

你是一個愛狗或者愛貓的人嗎？
英語中一般用狗狗來形容人通常都是褒義的，這也算中西方文化差異之一吧，比如：
Top dog 大佬
Reynolds has never concealed his ambition to be the top dog.
雷諾茲從沒掩飾過他要成為老大的雄心。
Lucky dog 幸運兒
You are a lucky dog.
你真是個幸運兒。
#pig 篇#
Pigs might fly./When pigs fly.不可能，無稽之談
其實這句話和漢語中的“太陽打西邊出來了”差不多，指不可能發生的事情。
--"There's a chance he won't get involved in this, of course."
“當然，他還是有可能不插手此事的。”
--"And pigs might fly."
“才怪呢。”
She will come to your birthday party when pigs fly.
她不可能來參加你的生日派對。
pig out 狼吞虎嚥，大吃特吃
這個短語可千萬別根據字面意思翻譯為“豬出來了”，英語老師會崩潰的哈哈，“pig out”的意思是“狼吞虎嚥，大吃特吃”。
I stopped pigging out on chips and crisps.
我不再暴食薯條和薯片了。
pig-headed 固執
英語中形容一個人固執，可以說pig-headed.
She, in her pig-headed way, insists that she is right and that everyone else is wrong.
她固執地堅持認為自己是對的，別人都是錯的。
