雅思口语中的Collocation(词项搭配)

雅思口语中的Collocation(词项搭配)

The director gave me some suggestions. He expect me to give a formal apology to Peter, because he did have a contribution to the project.

The director made some suggestions. He expected me to make a formal apology to Peter who did make a contribution to the project.

三个make!

CAN YOU SPEAK PRECISE ENGLISH???

这些词包括:go, turn, get, become, have, take, make, come, pay 等。

My brother was very embarrassed and his face went red.

The sky turned gold as the sun set. / The news gave him such a shock that his hair turned white overnight.

He became depressed after his wife had passed away.

还有其他一些常用动词,如make, have, take, pay:

Have an accident

Have an argument / a row

Have difficulty

Have a feeling

Make for a ... apology

Make a protest

Make an apology

Make a suggestion

雅思口语中的Collocation(词项搭配)

The lanterns in the garden create a romantic atmosphere = make for a romantic atmosphere

The students staged a protest against this school rule = make a formal protest

It took my father ten minutes to rustle up a meal = (informal) make a meal very quickly

Take a holiday / a trip

Take a risk

Take a chance

Take advantage of

Take action

Pay

Pay attention

Pay a compliment

Pay your (last) respects

Pay tribute to 赞颂,赞扬

It means action, statement or gift that is meant to show one's respect or admiration (Oxford Advanced Dictionary 6th edition). Pay (a) (high) tribute to 赞颂; 向... Pay the last tribute to 向... 同时,它又可以搭配stand 这个动词:stand in silent tribute for sb 为某人默哀。还可以和lay这个动词搭配:lay a tribute on ...(=lay under tribute) 对... 比如:lay a tribute on a country向国家纳贡。

“In terms of difficulties in study, he has the guts to cope with them. Meanwhile,he always comes up with some smart ideas in study, especially with the alternative suggestions. In daily life, he could care for friends heart and soul and even provide around-the-clock cares for his lover.”

雅思口语中的Collocation(词项搭配)
