让大家待在家里也不得不认真学习。
当然，有的同学在非常认真的上课，
但有的同学可能就得承担
#上网课划水的后果#
毕竟，“网课划水一时爽，开学考试做文盲”
所以还是希望童鞋们都能够正确对待网课，
千万不要“划水”，要认真听讲学习哦~
不过，因为疫情一直处于变化之中，
很多学校具体的开学日期也一直处于变动之中。
那么，今天趣课君就来跟大家说说“网课”、“划水”、“开学”这些词的英文表达。
网 课
由于延迟开学，很多学校都开始远程教学，
学生们都开始上网课，
用英语说就是：take online courses
take a class 的意思是：上课，
却只能表示学生上课学习知识。
老师上课是传授知识，teach 是教课，
lesson 和 class是课程，
所以老师上课要说：teach a class / give a lesson

teach a class / give a lesson 上课（老师讲课）
take online courses 上网课
Recently many students have to take online courses.
最近很多学生不得不开始上网课。
Read books or take online courses to better acquaint yourself with your business.
通过读书或者网上学习让你更好地了解你的业务。
Universities should take good use of online courses and spread it widely.
大学应该好好利用网络课程并广泛传播。
划 水
“划水”是一种方言，
这个词起初用于形容偷懒的船夫，
当其他船夫在认真划船时，
他们会浑水摸鱼把桨从一边拨到另一边。
boatmen who would half-heartedly splash their oars from side to side while their colleagues did the actual rowing
后来延伸到工作和学习领域，
就成“偷懒、怠工”的意思了。
那么，这里的的“划水”就可以用 slack off 表示↓↓↓
slack off: to work less hard or to be less than is usual or necessary
Don't slack off in your studies.
学习上不可懈怠。
If no one is looking over our shoulder, we tend to let ourselves slack off.
如果没人盯着，我们倾向于松懈自己。
开 学
关于“开学”的英文表达，
可能有童鞋会说：
那还不简单，肯定是open school...
但其实，这是一个中式英语（Chingish）
而放到英文中
open school 则跟中文的意思不同
只是单纯的说：学校开门了
有可能是学校的
“开放日 open day”
（学校、大学、工厂等接受公众参观的）接待日，开放日
a day when an organization such as a school, college, or factory allows members of the public to go in and see what happens there
另外 open school 里的 open 也可作形容词
就变成了“开放的学校”
所以，这个表达并不准确！
我们所说的“开学”，
其实是强调“新学期开始了”的意思。
我们都知道“学期”是 semester / term
在这里讲一下这两个词的区别↓↓↓
① semester
(especially in the US) one of the two periods that the school or college year is divided into
学期（尤用于美国，一学年分两个学期）
the spring / fall semester
春季 / 秋季学期
the first / second semester
第一 / 第二学期
② term
(especially in Britain) one of the three periods in the year during which classes are held in schools, universities, etc.
学期（尤用于英国，学校一年分三个学期）
the spring / summer / autumn term
春季 / 夏季 / 秋季学期
Many students now have paid employment during term.
现在许多学生在上学期间就从事有薪工作。
所以，“开学”就可以说：
The new semester starts / begins.
而在英国，可以说成：
The new term starts / begins.
The new semester starts tomorrow, I don't wanna go back to school!
明天新学期就要开始了，我不想回去上学。
The new term begins. I'm starting on making a study plan.
新的学期开始了，我正着手制定新的计划。
如果大家觉得 start / begin 的用法太老套，
这里还有一个新奇的说法↓↓↓
kick off
这个表达源于足球比赛，
最初是指“踢开”，有时也指“开球”。
后来，
这个表达也就渐渐有了“开始”的含义。
所以，“新学期开始了” 也就可以表达为：
The new semester kicks off.
The referee tossed a coin to decide which team should kick off.
裁判掷硬币以决定哪个队开球。
“开学”其实也意味着师生都需要“返校”了，
所以开学还可以用 back to school 代替。
外国朋友和你说 back to school 时，
不要理解为平常出入校园哦，
他其实是在表达“开学”。
这个用法在国外比较常见。
The new semester begins. We are back to school.
新学期开始了，我们又开学了。
My son went back to school on this Monday, he went to school by public transport.
我的儿子这个星期一开学，他是搭乘公共交通工具去的。
