☞regard在上面的例句中表示“看待”的意思，regard as就表示“把……看待为……”。如果我们将as替换为with，则表示“（以某种感情）看待”，例如：
He regards thieves with loathing.
他带着憎恶看待小偷。
☞in regard to则表示“关于，至于”的意思：
In regard to the book, he believes it's the best one he has read this year.
至于这本书，他觉得是他今年读过的最好的一本。
☞我们还可以用as regards来表示相同的意思，是一个相对正式的用法。需要注意的是，这个短语用的是regards：
As regards the book, he believes it's the best one he has read this year.

☞come out这个短语用很多种含义。上面的例句中，当come out的主语是书、专辑等物时，这个短语就表示“上市；出版”的意思。come out还可以表示“公开宣布（支持/反对）……”。表示“公开宣布支持……”的话，要和in favour of连用：
She came out in favour of the plan.
她公开支持该计划。
☞表示“公开宣布反对……”，则要和against连用：
She came out against the plan.
她公开反对该计划。

☞你知道吗？come out还可以用来表示“（同性恋者）公开表明身份”。比如，当你得知谢耳朵出柜时，就可以说：
I heard that Jim Parsons officially came out.
我听说吉姆·帕森斯公开出柜了。
I put away the report card in the drawer for fear that Mother should see it.

Here the wages are paid in proportion to the amount of work done.
在这里，工资是按工作量成比例支付的。
☞proportion是“比例；占比”的意思，所以in proportion to就表示“成比例地”的意思。那你知道“完全不成比例”要怎么说吗？我们可以用out of all proportion to这个短语：
The payment was out of all proportion to the workload.
工资和工作量完全不成比例。
☞proportion还可以作动词使用，表示“使成比例”的意思，通常以被动式的形式出现在句子中，例如，上面的例句就可以改写为：
The payment wasn't proportioned to the workload.
工资和工作量不成比例。
