大噶好！相信大家近几个月应该也看到不少音乐节的宣传，各种阵容争相吸引眼球。炎炎夏日里有音乐作伴当然不亦乐乎。今天啾啾就想跟大家分享一个比较小众但也非常特别的音乐风格——shoegaze，了解一下怎么用英文介绍一种音乐风格，同时也为自己的夏日歌单充充电。Let’s get started!
首先，shoegaze这个词可以直译为“盯鞋”或者“瞪鞋”，也有人音译为“修盖子”或叫他们为“自赏乐队”，是一种另类摇滚支派，出现于1980年代晚期的英国。
Shoegaze is a sub-genre of indie rock(独立摇滚) and alternative rock(另类摇滚) that emerged in the United Kingdom in the late 1980s. Its sound is characterized by an ethereal(轻飘的) mixture of obscured(模糊的) vocals, guitar distortion(吉他失真) and effects(音效), feedback and overwhelming volume.
“盯鞋”是独立摇滚、另类摇滚下的一个分支。它之所以代表一种音乐类型是特指这种音乐的纯粹声响。这种音乐往往带给你的是不可抗拒的喧吵并伴随着长时间低沉单调的吉他回复、扭曲失真的声波和一系列吉他回馈的层叠。
The term "shoegazing" was coined by the British music press to ridicule(调侃) the stage presence of shoegaze performers who stood still during live performances in a detached(超然的), introspective(内省的) state with their heads down. This was because the heavy use of effects pedals(效果器) meant the performers were often looking down at the readouts(读出器) on their effects pedals during concerts. Most shoegaze bands drew from the stylistic template(模板) set by My Bloody Valentine.
将此风格称为“瞪鞋摇滚”，是因为这些乐团在现场演出时经常站着不动，全神贯注于在地上的效果器，貌似盯着他们的鞋子一样。大部分的自赏乐队的音乐都以My Bloody Valentine乐队音乐为模板。

Slowdive are an English rock band that formed in Reading, Berkshire in 1989.

2. Beach Fossils
Beach Fossils published their first EP(Extended-play record) in 2011. In the EP appear several quality singles(单曲) including What a Pleasure and Adversity.
3. The Bilinda Butchers
This shoegaze band picked their name from Bilinda Jayne Butcher (born 16 September 1961), an English musician and singer-songwriter, best known as a vocalist and guitarist of the shoegaze band My Bloody Valentine.
Their magnum opus(代表作) include THE LOVER’S SUICIDE, Tulips and Careless Teens.
