福特·馬多克斯·布朗（ford madox brown 1821-1893）是著名的英國插畫家和設計師。福特·馬多克斯·布朗原本不是拉斐爾前派的成員，但他贊同此派的主張，給予拉斐爾前派不少指導和影響。他在意大利期間首先領會了早期文藝復興藝術，並將這些介紹給英國皇家美術學院的學生。他有高度的寫實技巧，受到學生們的尊敬。

Work

福特·馬多克斯·布朗以高度的寫實造型技巧和大膽反傳統畫風吸引了相當一部分青年學生和畫家，年輕的威廉·霍爾曼·亨特和約翰·埃弗裡特·米萊斯等都與他過從甚密，在他的指導影響下從事藝術創作。布朗的創作題材取自於現實生活，他對英國社會的兩極分化很為不滿，他說：“現在的社會是聽任撒旦在建造黑暗的磨坊。”他的創作反映了英國的社會現實。代表作品有《勞作》、《領走你的孩子,先生!》，他雖不是英國人，但在他的藝術作品中最富有英國氣息。
