在中文裡邊，表示倍數關係時，有不同的說法，比如我們可以說A的價格是B的3倍，也可以說A比B貴2倍。
同樣，英語作為一種靈活的語言，它也有幾種不同的方式表達倍數關係，以下是最常見的三種：
1. 倍數 + 比較級 (longer/faster…) + than
This rope is twice longer than that one.
這根繩子比那根繩子長兩倍。
This hall is four times bigger than our classroom.
這個大廳比我們的教室大四倍。
2. 倍數 + as + 原級 (heavy/fast...) + as
This box is three times as heavy as that one.
這個箱子的重量是那個箱子的三倍。
Asia is about four times as large as Europe.
亞洲的面積大約是歐洲的四倍。
3. 倍數 + noun (the length/depth…)+ of
This street is four times the length of that one.
這條街是那條街的四倍長。
The new bridge is three times the width of the one built last year.
這座新橋是去年修建那座橋的三倍寬。
