Kitten's first full moon
小猫咪追月亮
It was Kitten's first full moon.
这是小猫咪第一次看见满月。
When she saw it, she thought,
看着满月, 她想,
There's a little bowl of milk in the sky.
天上有一小盆牛奶啊。
And she wanted it.
她真想喝啊。
So she closed her eyes,
于是，她闭上眼睛，
and stretch her neck,
伸长脖子，
and opened her mouth and licked.
张开嘴巴，伸出舌头舔了舔。
But Kitten's only ended up
可是小猫咪舔到的
with a bug on her tongue.
只是一只苍蝇。
Poor Kitten!
可怜的小猫咪！
Still, there was the little bowl of milk, just waiting.
而那一小盆牛奶，还在那里静静地等着。
So she pulled herself together,
于是，她弓起身子,
and wiggled her bottom,
扭了扭屁股，
and sprang from the top step of the porch.
从门廊最上面的台阶纵身跃起。
But Kitten only tumbled—
可是，小猫咪摔倒了—
bumping her nose and banging her ear,
撞扁了她的鼻子，摔疼了她的耳朵，
and pinching her tail.
夹疼了她的尾巴。
Still, there was the little bowl of milk, just waiting.
而那一小盆牛奶，还在那里静静地等着。
So she chased it—
于是，她开始去追—
down the sidewalk,
她下了人行道,
through the garden,
穿过花园,
past the field,
经过田野,
and by the pond.
来到池塘边。
But Kitten never seemed to get closer.
可是，小猫咪离它好像还是那么远。
Poor Kitten!
可怜的小猫咪！
Still, there was the little bowl of milk, just waiting.
而那一小盆牛奶，还在那里静静地等着。
So she ran
于是，她跑向
To the tallest tree
她能找到的
She could find,
最高的树，
and she climbed
她爬啊
and climbed
爬啊
and climbed
爬到
to the very top.
最高处。
But Kitten
可是小猫咪
still couldn't reach
还是够不到
the bowl of milk,
那盆牛奶，
and now she was scared.
她好害怕。
Poor Kitten!
可怜的小猫咪！
What could she do?
她该怎么办啊？
Then, in the pond, Kitten saw
就在那时，在池塘里小猫咪看见
Another bowl of milk.
另一碗牛奶。
and it was bigger.
更大的一碗牛奶。
What a night!
多么棒的夜晚啊！
So she raced down the tree
于是，她跑下树
And raced through the grass
跑过草丛
And raced to the edge of the pond.
跑到池塘边
She leaped with all her might—
用尽全力跳了下去—
Poor Kitten!
可怜的小猫咪！
She was wet and sad
她全身湿透了，她又伤心
and tired and hungry
又累又饿
So she went back home —
最后，她失望地回家了—
And there was a great bowl of milk on the porch
就在那儿，在门廊上，有大大的一盆牛奶
just waiting for her.
正等着她
