專業簡介
通信工程 (Communication Engineering) 專業主要學習通信技術、通信系統和通信網等方面的知識，旨在培養在通信領域中從事研究、設計、製造、運營及在國民經濟各部門和國防工業中從事開發、應用通信技術與設備的專業人才。畢業後可從事無線通信、電視、大規模集成電路、智能儀器及應用電子技術領域的研究，設計等相關工作。英國在移動通信和網絡結構方面有很強的實力，它的移動 / 無線通信，信號處理、微波通訊、光通信等領域處於世界領先地位。
就業前景
通信工程專業是信息科學技術發展迅速並極具活力的一個領域，尤其是數字移動通信、光纖通信、 Internet 網絡通信使人們在傳遞信息和獲得信息方面達到了前所未有的便捷程度。通信工程具有極廣闊的發展前景，也是人才嚴重短缺的專業之一。
