只有在平時的學習中注意收集那些容易混淆的常用詞語，做起題來才得心應手。解答此類題從以下幾個方面入手。
1. 從搭配上去區分。
如［真題再練］1、8。much不能接複數名詞，可見1錯了；many後也不能接單數名詞或不可數名詞，所以8錯了。
2. 從意義上去區分。
如［真題再練］5，“他是我從來沒有見到過的最溫柔的人”，沒有見到過，你怎麼知道是最溫柔的人？可想到作者應是表達“在見到過的所有人中，他是最溫柔的人”。
3. 從結構上去區分。
如［真題再練］4，be used to doing 可這樣記：有be才有ing。
4. 從用法上去區別。
如［真題再練］2。

常用詞的用法辨析是一個常考點，主要考點有8個：
1. many與much的誤用。(考的頻率最高)
辨析：many修飾或代替可數名詞複數；much修飾或代替不可數名詞(只有單數形式)。
2. so, very, much與very much的誤用。
辨析：(1)so與very均可修飾形容詞或副詞的原級，如so good, very good, so well, very well，但so與very一般只能用一個而不同時用，如不能說so very good, so very well；(2)much一般不修飾形容詞或副詞的原級，但可修飾比較級，如much better(好得多)；(3)very much修飾動詞，如I like English very much. (我非常喜歡英語)
3. ago與before的誤用。
辨析：“時間段+ago”相對現在多久以前；“時間段+before”相對過去多久以前。
4. ever與never的誤用。
辨析：ever從來，在任何時候，曾經；never從來不。
5. here與there的誤用。
辨析：通常說去“那裡”，即go there；來“這裡”，即come here。
6. used to do sth.與be used to doing sth.的誤用。
辨析：used to do sth.過去常常做某事；be used to doing sth.習慣做某事。
7. do wrong與go wrong的誤用。
辨析：do wrong作惡, 犯罪；go wrong(機器)出故障(與work相對)。
8. no與not的誤用。
辨析：no是形容詞，否定名詞，相當於not a或not any；而not是副詞，否定動詞。
