This is AP News Minute.

A massive explosion was reported early Wednesday at a chemical plant in east Texas. Evacuations were ordered around the plant. Windows were blown out miles away.

More than two dozen people are now known dead from the earthquake that struck Albania on Tuesday morning. More than 600 people were injured. Rescue crews are searching through collapsed buildings for survivors.

Southern California firefighters are hoping rain will help to douse flames in foothills around Santa Barbara. The fire is threatening more than 2,000 homes and burned close to 7 square miles by Tuesday night.

Two fierce winter storms are expected to disrupt Thanksgiving travel across much of the U.S. One storm is dropping snow from Rockies to Upper Midwest. The other is bringing snow to California and Oregon.
