一，A higher percentage of universities in the UK are in the World Top 100 than in the USA,in other words, the USA has more universities, but on average,UK universities are higher-quality.

How to apply for a UK University?
英國大學如何申請？
一，All applications to UK universities are made through UCAS.
所有學生都通過UCAS系統申請英國大學。
二，The resources required in UCAS application consist of: personal information,education history,
personal Statement, School Recommendation and Predicted grades.
UCAS申請需要提交的材料包括：個人信息，教育背景，申請文書，學校推薦信和預估分。一般來說申請材料提交時間為九，十月份。
三，If the written application is strong and the test scores are good enough,students will be invited to interviews in December.
如果學生的書面申請材料非常優秀，同時成績也足夠好，12月份就會收到面試通知。
What is Personal Statement?
什麼是申請文書？
一，This is an important part of the written application for all UK Universities. It is a maximum of 4000
characters long including punctuation. All universities will read it so it cannot be written for one particular university.
個人陳述是申請所有英國大學的書面材料中都非常重要的一項。包括標點符號，一共最多可以寫4000個字符。所有你申請的英國大學都會閱讀你的個人陳述，所以個人陳述不是寫給某一個大學的，而是寫給所有你申請的大學。
二，In the Statement,students have to explain why they want to study the degree course they are applying for(e.g Medicine),and why they would be a good student on that course-referring to past
academic experience,work experience,etc.
在個人陳述中，學生必須要解釋為什麼他們想學他們申請的這個專業（比如：醫學），以及為什麼他們會是這個專業裡的好學生—通過介紹過往的學術經歷，實習經歷等。
三，Most UK universities do not interview students,so this is the only way they can judge a student's
suitability.
大部分英國大學沒有面試環節，所以個人陳述就是他們評判是否錄取學術的唯一標準。
What is the selection process of a UK University?
英國大學錄取流程是什麼？
一，This varies a bit between the universities and colleges but essentially:
通常每個大學的錄取流程略有不同，但基本上每個學校會要求：
-Students must be predicted to achieve the minimum grades necessary unless there are special
circumstances
-Students receive a score for their existing qualifications,if any(e.g.IGCSE)
-Students receive a score for the written parts of the application
-Students receive a score for the aptitude test,if there is one

二，All these scores are added up,and students are ranked the colleges will then work their way down the list for as many interview spots as are available.

三，It is therefore quite an achievement for students to be invited to the interview stage.

四，Interviews are academically challenging and intense.they are not like the alumni interviews
conducted by lvy league universities,which are informal and designed to see if a student is a good “fit”.

How will l be interviewed?

一，Most interviews take place in Cambridge/Oxford.A small number take place in e.g.USA,Singapore,but it is best attend in the UK if possible.
At Oxford all students will have at least 2 interviews,at Cambridge they will have 1 or 2 depending on the college.
大部分面試都會在劍橋/牛津舉行。有一小部分會在美國，新加坡，如果可能的話最好參加在英國的面試。
在牛津，學生至少要通過2輪面試才能被錄取，劍橋是1輪或者2輪。
二，Interviews are designed to simulate the small-group tutorials. they will challenge students to think with originality and consider problems the student has not encountered before. they are nnot tests of knowledge.
面試的形式類似於小組研討會，考核學生的原創思維和思考未遇到的問題的能力，而不是考核學生對於某種知識的掌握程度。
三，Interviewers will score candidates independently and these will be added to the exsting scores from the shortlisting process.
每個面試官會單獨給每個學生打分，所打分數最後會計入學生的錄取總分之內。
