Hmm... i'm going to try something here... imagine if japan invaded the USA they didn't stop at pearl harbor they kept going and took over most of the western united states before the united states could regroup and fight back. But before they do lets say San Francisco was captured and 300,000 American woman and Children were either raped, Beheaded, or Experimented on. Any soldiers that surrendered were usually killed as Japanese imperials believe in the code of Bushido (death before dishonor). Meaning any US soldiers that surrendered were considered to be sub human.
So back to the scenario, America does fight back and pushes the Japanese out and continues the war up until the Atom bombs.
Now were in the 2000s. Japan continues to apologize for the war however Shinzo abe Worships at the war temple honoring the Japanese veterans that gave the command to rape and kill everyone in San Francisco. Now there is no mention of the atrocities committed in San Francisco in text books and any history at school states that the bombing on japan made Japan the victim not the USA.
Oh and theirs a huge number of Japanese people who don't believe it happened considering theirs video footage, pictures, witness testimonies, etc, etc.
How would you feel as an american or as any other country?
Just a note i'm not Asian and i'm not trying to get under anyone's skin i just like seeing point of views in two different perspective.

I'm a Brazilian that lived in Japan for a long time and went to regular Japanese school. I will never forget the day my history teacher lectured about the Nanjing Massacre. The whole class was shocked and listened in absolute silence with a freightened look.
From that day on, I started to try to study about history in another way, because the story of the winning side is never the same as the losing side. That doesn't mean that the losing side is always telling the truth, so the best you can do is look into historical documents and judge for you own.
I believe most of Japanese didn't have a teacher like mine that had the courage to bring up that episode. And I thought extremely positive what he did. My view of the Japanese citizens didn't change a bit, but my view of war stories in general changed immensely.
我是一個在日本生活了很長時間的巴西人，上的是正規的日本學校。我永遠不會忘記我的歷史老師講南京大屠殺的那一天。全班同學都被震住了。
