在作因此講的時候，這三個其實老外都有些分不清的。如果你是對自己要求嚴格的人，有必要繼續往下看。只為了過考試，三個混用沒事，不用浪費時間。但是注意hence作因此時不但可以是連詞，還可以是副詞，引導名詞短語，以下有距離說明。
側重點之不同
thus
Thus 表示的是後面的事是前面提及的事的結果。著重的是預想的結果。
- It is raining, and thus you don’t have to go to school. ——預想的結果
- 下雨了，所以你不用去上學了。
- You do not have the evidences. Thus it is impossible for you to convict him shoplifting. ——預想的結果
- 你沒有證據，所以無法給他以盜竊商店定罪。
therefore
Therefore同樣表示後面的事是前面提及的事的結果，等同於for the reason that。它更傾向於邏輯的結果。
- You drank. Therefore, you shouldn’t drive. ——邏輯結果
- 你喝酒了，所以不能開車。
- He is experienced, and therefore the best candidate for the vacancy. ——邏輯結果
- 他有經驗，所以是空缺職位的最好人選。
hence
Hence 表示的是也是後事是前事的結果，但是它的著重點是鑑於前事。
- I have known her for many years, hence we are not strangers. ——鑑於
- 鑑於我認識她多年，我和她不算陌生人。
- I like her very much, hence the need for making her my wife. ——鑑於
- 鑑於我很喜歡她，我有娶她的心思。
