马尔代夫要求印度收回第二架直升机，两国关系转冷
新德里：在印度努力在东南亚扩大影响力之际，却在马尔代夫接二连三遭遇严重挫折。马尔代夫是印度洋群岛，曾是印度战略后院的完美组成部分。现在阿卜杜拉·亚米恩政权要求印度收回部署在拉穆环礁的第二架“礼物”海军直升机（北极星轻型直升机）。
这架直升机的交换函在上个月已过期，但马累不但正式拒绝续签，还要求印度在6月底前完成印度直升机的回收。
印度时报在4月5日曾首次报道称，马累想让印度收回一架部署在拉穆环礁的直升机离开。当时，马勒否认想让印度收回另一架部署在拉穆环礁的直升机。印度政服之前向马尔代夫赠送了2架轻型直升机，但据马累的报道，亚米恩政服对印度海军人员驻扎在马尔代夫维护直升机感到不满。
印度部署了6名飞行员和十多名地面人员来操作这些轻型直升机，并协助马尔代夫的国防部队。
马尔代夫驻印度大使艾哈迈德穆罕默德在接受印度时报采访时表示，他对这个问题无可奉告。
有消息称，在马尔代夫修建印度警察学院的工作也被推迟，因为马累通过“非正式”途径下令移民部门暂停对所有印度技术工人签发新的工作许可证，但这些技术工人是印度资助项目不可或缺的角色。
拉穆环礁的地理位置十分重要，据说中国正在考虑在此修建港口。据报道，马尔代夫驻中国大使穆罕默德·费萨尔今年早些时候曾表示，中国确实表示有意在马尔代夫修建港口。
“阿杜环礁(其他印度直升机所在地)的地理位置也很重要，因为它位于赤道海峡，靠近迭戈加西亚。马累似乎想让这些战略地点不再受到印度染指。”一位不愿透露姓名的政服官员表示。
