信任在不管是在现在还是以前，都是及其重要的，现在的为人处世信任是最最基础也是最最重要的前提，不管这个信任从哪里来，也不管这个信任有多少，而这信任的多少在英语中又是怎样描述的呢？
1.trust
说道信任，一般是会想到这个词，trust代表的是强调相信、信任可靠，突出信任、相信的重要性。
例如：
You cannot expect your friends to trust you if you don't keep faith with them.
My experience inclines me to the view that he is not to be trusted.
2.belief
这是一个普通用词，所阐述的信任也是单纯的从主观意义上的相信，不着重于这种相信是否有根据，就像大家以前常说的‘这人看起来好老实’，不自觉的就会这个人打上‘老实，可以相信’的标签，所以在口语中的我认为也有‘I hold the belief that...’的说法。
例如：
He called at her house in the belief that she would lend him the money.
Civilians had broken into the building, apparently in the belief that it contained food.
3.credit
这是语气最弱的一个表达信任的词，指的是相信一些令人比较难以相信的东西，比如‘所外星人就在地球上’，也着重于以声誉为信任的前提。
例如：
It was hard to credit some of the stories we heard about her.
Bratbakk had more ability than the media gave him credit for.
4.faith
这个表达出来的相信在语气上是比较强的，强调的是一个完全相信，是充满肯定的感情与依靠的相信，像对老师或医生的信任就带有一定的依赖性和肯定性，也有少数情况所表达的是仅凭感觉所产生的一个相信。
例如：
After the trial, his family said they had lost all faith in the judicial system.
Her friend's kindness has restored her faith in human nature.
5.confidence
这个信任不是给自己的，而是给予的，指的是对某人某事有信心，断定不会因此让人因此失望而给予的信任。
例如：
This has contributed to the lack of confidence in the FDA.
He crawled into the confidence of the boss.
6.conviction
个人觉得这个词是对我们现在生活中一方面的比较中肯的诠释，其所表的深信侧重的是根据自己长期交往或事件出来的深信，是对某人某事有了认识和了解之后产生的信心与相信，主要表明其坚定性。
例如：
It is our firm conviction that a step forward has been taken.
What grew chiefly upon me, rather, was the conviction that only those who are trustworthy know how to trust.
