「请坐，用英语到底怎么说？」
让老外请坐时，我们通常都会说：sit down please.
其实，在老外看来，这样说是非常不礼貌的！
那么英语中的「请坐」，到底应该怎么说呢？
正确的说法是：

Please take a seat.
Please have a seat.
Please be seated.
当然，sit down这个词组并不是完全不能用。比如几个关系要好的姐妹之间，也可以很随意地这么说
但如果是第一次见面，或者正式场合中，建议大家不要这么用。
Sit down这个词组，更多的是强调down，也就是「坐下」中的「下」这个概念。
比如：

Teachers staged a sit-down protest in front of the president's office.
老师们在校长办公室门前举行了一场静坐抗议。
Let's sit down and then you can say what's up.
咱们先坐下来，然后你把事情告诉我。
Now sit down and make yourself comfortable. You must be very tired.
现在坐下来，让自己舒服些，你一定很累了。
有时候，sit down还可以表示“专心致志、尽心尽力去做某事”。
比如：

你们有没有同心协力制订出一份预算呢？
