那麼你想表現多好呢？

All of us want to be good at our jobs, but how good do we really want to be?

我們所有人都想做好我們的工作，但是我們真正想做到多好呢？

Quite good.

相當好

Good.

好

Very good.

非常好

The best in our field.

在我們的領域中是最好的。

Or the best in the world?

或是成為世界上最好的。

Talent helps, but it won’t take you as far as ambition.

天賦多少幫了些忙。但和野心抱負相比，它還是有限的。

Everybody wants to be good, but not many are prepared to make the sacrifices it takes to be great.

每個人都想成為優秀，卻不是每個人都為成為優秀而做好犧牲的準備。

To many people, being nice in order to be liked is more important.

對許多人來說，為了受歡迎而合群則更重要。

There’s equal merit in that, but you must not confuse being good with being liked.

這當然有相對的好處，但你不能將變得優秀與受歡迎兩個概念混淆了。

Most people are looking for a solution, a way to become good.

大部分人都在尋找一個方法。一條可以成為優秀的道路。

（however）There is no instant solution, the only way to learn is through experience and mistakes.

（但）這是沒有迅速奏效的方法。學習這條道路道唯一途徑只能通過經驗累積和對過錯的思考。

You will become whoever you want to be.

你能變成你想要成為的樣子。
