宋錢應該說是在古錢的中國歷史上是到了鼎盛時期，其設計應該說是在中國曆代古錢當中，是比較下工夫、比較講究的。錢文大部分都是出於書法大家，特別像宋徽宗大觀通寶也好崇寧通寶也好，就是用它的瘦經體來書寫的。

元豐通寶為中國古代錢幣之一。神宗趙頊，年間（公元1078年~公元1085年）鑄造。有小平，和鐵錢。書體有三種，互成對錢。版別極其複雜，其中以背月小平錢，小平大字篆書，隸書比較少見，另有鐵錢，其中背“陝”者罕見。另有元豐重寶為大珍，折五光背，篆書旋讀，為未發行的樣錢，僅有兩枚存世，極為珍貴。
