前兩天熊大看見外教郭傑瑞，扛了一大箱牛奶。呼哧呼哧，往樓下垃圾桶一扔就走了，老外都這麼奢侈的麼？一大箱牛奶直接扔掉。熊大被驚呆了！
外教解釋：The milk is rather high - I'm going to throw it out.
熊大以為外教是說：牛奶太高，不能被吃了？聽到這，他更加疑惑了。
其實，這只是一個烏龍。The milk is rather high。實際上他是在說：牛奶壞了，不能喝了。在牛津字典中，High除了有高的意思。在英文中，還表示“食物變質”。Sth is high，表示某物變質了，是典型的用法。
例句：
①This meat is rather high - I'm going to throw it out.
這塊肉已經變質了——我去扔掉。
②Beef and milk are high in the fridge because of the power cut.
因為停電，冰箱裡的牛肉和牛奶都壞了。

03、It's high time
It s high time to do sth等於It s about time to do sth。翻譯為“差不多/現在是……的時候了”。

04、high and mighty
盛氣凌人的，趾高氣揚的
英文釋義：behaving as if you are much more important than other people
例句：
He was acting all high and mighty.

05、get on your high horse
自命不凡
英文釋義：to start talking angrily about something bad that someone else has done as if you feel you are better or more clever than they are
例句：
So before you get on your high horse, make sure you're going to be happy once you're up there;
