今天在看真題的時候，筆者發現了一個新的詞根，通過這組詞根，大家又可以記憶很多單詞啦，趕快來圍觀啦！
Incite v. 刺激，激勵；煽動；促使
在這個單詞裡，其實暗藏了一個詞根，那就是cit，它的意思有兩個：
一是quote,call, 表示"引用,喚起"; 二是citizen,表示"公民"
在第一個詞義下，最直觀的單詞是
Cite n.引用;引證；這個單詞在真題中會經常出現，尤其是會出現在題幹裡，大家可一定要認識哦！
除此之外，還有：
Excite v.使興奮,刺激
Ex（向外）+cit（引用）+e（無實義）→引出情緒→使興奮，使激動
它對應的名詞形式是excitement
Incite v.鼓勵,煽動
In（向內）+cit（引用）+e（無實義）→ 引起精神 →鼓勵，煽動
對應的名詞形式是incitation n.激動
Recite v.背誦;演奏 re（再，又）+cit（引用）+e（無實義）→ 再次引起記住的東西→背誦
對應的名詞是recital n.背誦;獨奏
Resuscitate v.復活;恢復
Re（再）+sus（下面）+cit（引用,喚起）+ate（表動詞）→把下去的東西再引出→恢復;激活在第二個意思下，有大家最熟悉的單詞：
city城市, 都市
cit公民+y→公民居住的地方→城市
在這些單詞裡面，最重要的單詞就是incite，我們來看一這個單詞的考查方式。

to incite crime/racial hatred/violence
教唆犯罪；煽動種族仇恨 / 暴力
They were accused of inciting the crowd to violence.
他們被控煽動群眾暴亂。
[動詞 + 名詞短語 + 帶to的不定式]
He incited the workforce to come out on strike.
他煽動工人罷工。

Demonstrate, 證明，強調用證據來證明、說明某事

Illustrate, 闡明，強調通過事例、圖畫來解釋說明

Explain, 解釋，強調通過平實的語言把比較難的問題或事情解釋說明清楚，也有說明原因的意思。
The theory also seems to explain the sudden and unexpected popularity of certain looks, brands, or neighborhoods.
