語篇導讀:瑞士的貝爾京是阿爾卑斯山腳下最美麗的山村之一。但是當地政府決定,禁止遊客在這裡拍照。這到底是為什麼呢?

Sitting in the Swiss Alps, Bergün is one of the most beautiful mountain villages in Europe. So beautiful, in fact, that photos of it shared on social media may make people feel sad that they can’t visit, so the local government banned (禁止) tourists from taking photos.

It may sound like a joke, but it’s actually a new law. And yes, their reason is that photos of their beautiful home with the great mountains in the background could make people seeing them on social media jealous (嫉妒的) and sad.

To stop visitors from taking photos in Bergün, they plan to fine people €5 for breaking the new rules.

According to a statement by the Bergün tourism office, “It has been proven that beautiful holiday photos on social media make the viewer unhappy because they cannot be there themselves.”

However, as the news spread widely online, many thought that it was actually a clever marketing plan, a theory that was at least partially proven to be true by the village’s director of tourism, Marc-Andrea Barandun.

“In the background of course the idea is that everyone will be talking about Bergün,” he told The Local. “So it’s a combination of both — we made the law and also there’s some marketing aim behind it.” Barandun added that it is unlikely that anyone will actually be fined from taking a photo in the village.

If the new law is just to attract attention, it has actually worked wonders, as people started posting more photos of the beautiful mountain village soon after news of the photo ban started making headlines.

A few days ago, Mayor Nicolay addressed the photo ban in a video, where he offers people visiting Bergün a special permit (許可) to take photos. He advises them to think twice before sharing the pictures online, though, as they could be making their friends sad.
