甚至连自家门口的超市都不敢去了
说到超市
有人知道超市的英语是怎么说的吗？
三年级的英语课本上学到的单词是“supermarket”
但是在国外，真的是这样表达的吗？

在词典中，【supermarket】的释义为：a large shop/store that sells food, drinks and goods used in the home. People choose what they want from the shelves and pay for it as they leave.
（就是说，这是一个销售家庭中使用的视频、饮料以及其他商品的大商店，人们从货架上拿到自己想要的东西，并在离开的时候支付相应的费用）
不过在国外，很少有人将超市直接表达为supermarket
相对来说supermarket这个说法比较老旧
所以我们的超市有另外一种说法。
◆◆grocery store◆◆
在美语中，grocery store指的是出售商品食品和其他东西的商店。也就是我们说的“杂货店”。美国人一般用grocery store代指超市。
例句:
I worked stocking shelves in a grocery store .
我曾经在一个超市做货架上货的工作。
除了上面的说法之外
外国人也喜欢直接用超市名代替超市
比如Walmart、Carrefour
