1、天与火，同人。君子以类族辩物。
解释：天与火在一起象征团结，君子因此要分析各种人的是非善恶，辨别事物的差别同异。
The heaven’s combination with fire is an equivalence to unity, according to which a person with noble character can distinguish the kind from the evil and tell the difference among things.
2、冥豫在上，何可长也。
解释：昏昏沉沉地贪图在自在安乐上，这种局面怎能长久保持下去呢？
If you rest on a cozy bed aimlessly without any ambition, what about your sustainable future?
3.劳谦君子，万民服也。
解释：劳苦功高而又谦逊的君子，能够得到百姓的敬服。
A person of noble character who is diligent and modest is highly thought of by ordinary people.
4、积善之家，必有余庆；积不善之家，必有余缺。
解释：长期做好事的家庭，福址定会传到后代；长期做坏事的家庭，祸患一定会害及子孙后代。
Families which are fond of doing philanthropic deeds passes blessings on to their next generations, while evil ones poison their siblings with their misdeeds.
5、君子学以聚之，问以辩之，宽以居之，仁以行之。
解释：君子通过学习来积累知识，通过讨论来明辩事理，用宽厚的态度处事，运用仁义来行事。
A person of noble character achieves knowledge accumulation by learning, sharpens discrimination by reasoning discussion, tackles affairs with generous attitude and conducts in a benevolent way.
6、同声以相应，同气以相求。水流湿，火就燥；云从龙，风从虎；各从其类也。
解释：同样的声调能产生共鸣，同样的气息能相互吸引。水往低温的地方流，火往干燥的地方烧；云随龙而出，风从虎而现；说明天下万物都是亲附同类的。
The same tune generates the same resonance, while people with the same temperament attract each other. Water runs down to the places with lower temperature, and fire burns in drier places. Dragons emerge from clouds, and wind whirs along with running tigers. From above mentioned, it can be concluded that all creatures on the earth are harmoniously homogeneous.
7、居上位而不骄，在下位而不忧。故乾坤因其时而惕，虽危无咎矣。
解释：身居高位而不骄傲，屈居人下而不忧愁。所以说自强不息而又随时反省，虽面临危险而无灾祸。
A person enjoys high social status should never lives with pride and extravagance, while a man in lower class is unnecessarily carrying a humble heart. So a persistent person who lives with alert mind will never be ruined by disasters.
8、地势坤，君子以厚德载物。
解释：地的气势厚实温顺，君子应效法大地以深厚的德行来包容万物。
The magnificence of the earth lies in modesty and grandeur, because of which a person of noble character should conduct with incomparable virtue and a lenient heart.
9、上九，亢龙有悔。
解释：上九天，龙飞得过高，必将造成后悔之事。（做事有度，物极必反）
High in the sky, he who flies too high and has to regret what he has done. (Too much water drowned the miller. )
10、天行健，君子以自强不息。
解释：天道的特点是永远不停地运动变化，谁也不能阻挡。君子要效法天道，自立自强，奋发向上，永不松懈。
The traits of natural law lie in eternal motion, from which nobody can prevent. A person of noble character should abide by them, and he who strives with determination, self-reliance and persistence is a true man.
