甜白是永乐窑创烧的一种白釉。由于永乐白白瓷制品中许多都薄到半脱胎的程度,能够光照见影。在釉暗花刻纹的薄胎器面上,施以温润如玉的白釉,便给人以一种“甜”的感受,故名“甜白”。尤其是脱胎制作工艺极其复杂,大约需要几十道工序。甜白釉釉极莹润,能照见人影,比枢府窑卵白釉有更加明显的乳浊感,给人以温柔甜净之感,所以又称“葱根白”,素有“白如凝脂,素犹积雪”之誉。
