數學詞根

看完了這篇文章，可能你會想到：October前綴是八，但為什麼意思是十月，December以Dec為前綴，但意思卻是十二月呢？

其實以前October真的是八月，December也真的只是十月！以前一年只有十個月份，是羅馬統治者因為某些原因將一月到十月直接變為了三月到十二月，又強塞了一月和二月放到年初，變成了十二個月，這些說來就話長了，如果有人有興趣以後專開一貼講一講！

還有一個有意思的詞：dean,系主任，有些人可能知道它的詞根dec(=ten)，但是完全不明白系主任和"十"有啥關係，其實是這樣的：

一與詞根sol-

前綴sol-是一個前綴也是一個詞根，作為詞根，sol的意思是“太陽”，我們又可能這樣理解前綴so-,前綴 sol- 為象形前綴，可分解為：o 太陽、s 太陽的強光、l 太陽的弱光，即它代表太陽，太陽又是獨一無二的，所以它有“單,一”的含義。前綴不僅可以當作前綴而且，還可以當作詞根，還可以當作後綴，像這樣的前綴既可以作前綴，也可以當後綴還可當作詞根的很少，當後綴時含義為“溶膠，液膠”。

sol-表示前綴：

-sol表示後綴：

二與詞根bi-(bin-) =two,twice,doubly

在常用詞bicycle 中有個表示數目的前綴bi-，它源自拉丁語bis,願意為twice。bi-最早出現在從法語或拉丁引進的外來語中，是個只與拉丁詞根結合的原生詞綴。16世紀以後，bi-成為英語中的派生詞綴，能與名詞、形容詞及副詞相綴合，構成新詞（其中包括生物學與化學的術語），表示two,double,having two,in two ways等含義。bi-在個別單詞中讀[bI]（如bigamy），一般讀[bai]。bin-是bi-的異體，只出現在以元音字母開頭的詞根中。有一個意思是“生命”的詞根bi跟這個前綴bi-外形完全一樣，注意區別。

(1.)bicameral

v.divide into two branches （路、江、河等）分叉

adj. two-forked 分叉的 *bi(=two),furc(=fork)

例句：The organization chart shows the company's management is bifurcate;one branch manages food services and the other controls the company's apparel business.從組織圖表可以看出，公司的經營分成了兩部分，一部分負責餐飲業，另一部分則負責服裝加工業。

三與前綴tri-

英：word-forming element meaning "three," from L. tres (neuter tria) or Gk. treis (neuter tria) "three" (see three).

1.tricycle

2.tripod
