留長；蓄長(頭髮、鬍鬚等 I’ve dicided to grow my hair.
grow up 長大；成長 grow into... 長成 He has grown into a young man
2. I’m going to keep on writing stories 我將繼續寫故事。
keep(v.) 保持（狀態）： 如： keep healthy. Keep the door open
記（日記、賬簿）如： keep a diary
撫養(人);飼養(動物)如：keep his family; keep a pet.
保留；留下 如： You can keep the book for two days.
持續 keep (sb.)doing sth. (不停)做… 如：They kept me talking.

9. Some resolutions have to do with better planning, like making a weekly plan for schoolwork.

10 ．Most of the time, we make promises to other people. 大部分時候，我們向別人做出承諾。
promise (n.)承諾；諾言 make promises （to sb.）to do sth. 許下承諾...

(v.)承諾 promise that從句 He promised (that) he would help me.
保證 promise sb.sth.=promise sth. to sb. I can’t promise you anything.

11. Sometime the resolutions may be too difficult to keep.有時這些決定可能太難而無法實現.
1)may:情態動詞,表推測”可能,或許,大概”.you may be right this time, but I’m not sure.
2)too...to...”太...而不能...”如:the kid is too young to play this game.
3)keep:”履行(諾言);遵守(慣例)”keep a promise, keep one’s word 遵守承諾.
12. To question the idea of making resolutions. 對下決心這種想法提出質疑.
question (n)問題;疑問 in question 在討論中 out of question 毫無疑問
(v)提問;盤問;詢問 She was questioned about the fire. 她被詢問有關火災的事情。
懷疑;對...表示疑問: No one has ever questioned his honesty. 沒有人懷疑他的忠誠。
13. The first resolution is about my own personal improvement. 第一個決心與自我提高有關。
1) own: (v.) 擁有 ： He owned his own study. 他擁有自己的書房。
(adj.)自己的 ： I saw the accident with my own eyes. 我親眼看到的這起事故。
owner: 所有者；擁有者 the owner of the house on one’s own: 單獨；獨自 (=alone)
2). improve(v.):(使)好轉；改善 I expect to improve my English. improvement (n) 改進；改善
improve on sth. 對…做出改進： He improved on his plan.
14. be going to 結構:表示將要發生的動作或安排,或打算,計劃,決定要做的事.如:
The Smiths are goingto see a Peking opera this evening.
I’m going to study medicine at a university.
They’re going to play volleyball next week.
