英語表示自然界某些獨一無於的事物（如sun, moon, sky等）通常不可數，一般不連用不定冠詞，而是習慣上連用定冠詞。如：
The sun rose above the sea. 太陽昇出海面。
Far off to the west the sun was sinking.
遠處夕陽西下。
It is no longer a dream to fly to the moon. 飛往月球已不再是夢想了。
A balloon floated across the sky. 有個氣球從空中飄過。
Too much sun ages the skin.
曬太陽過多會使皮膚衰老。
They were trying to soak up some sun.
