不要直译为“有一颗甜牙”，实际意思是“爱吃甜食”。
She had a toothache recently because she always has a sweet tooth.
她最近牙疼，因为她一直都太爱吃甜食了。
draw one’s teeth off
这个短语可不是“画某人的牙齿”，实际意思是“使某人丧失能力，使某人变得无害”
These days’ fight has totally drawn the soldiers teeth off.
这些天的激战完全让士兵们丧失了战斗力。
give teeth to
不要理解为“给...牙”，
真正的意思是“授予（个人或组织）特殊权力和制裁权”。
The government passed a bill that would give teeth to the moral obligation to support one’s parents.
政府通过了一项法案，从法律上规定了人们供养父母的责任。
show one’s teeth
这个短语原指狗狗发威逞凶时的龇牙咧嘴，后延伸为表示“做出威胁的样子；现出敌意；发怒”。
I don’t even know what happened, he just showed his teeth to me.
我不知道发生了什么，他要这样对我发怒。
set one’s teeth on edge
英语中常用“on edge”表示“紧张、焦虑”的状态，这个短语出自《圣经·耶利米书》第三十一章:
Every man that eats the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge.
凡吃酸葡萄的，牙齿一定酸软。
这里的“on edge”，就是不舒服的意思。后人们就用“set one’s teeth on edge”来表示“使人牙根发酸”或“使人感到紧张不安、不舒服”。
What the boss said to me really set my teeth on edge.
老板对我说的话，真的让我很紧张。
