I called Mom to tell her we were going to crash at Gramma's for the night. But Mom sounded really mad on the phone.

crash: 这里是指找到临时寄宿或避难的地方。
我查了字典，牛津和柯林斯词典都没有这个意思，只有朗文词典有这个意思："（留在别人家里）过夜": to stay at someone's house for the night.
Can I crash at your place on Saturday night?
星期六晚上我能在你家过夜吗？
还有"（由于很疲倦）很快入睡"的意思：
I crashed out on the sofa this afternoon.
今天下午我在沙发上睡着了。
"怒不可遏"这个翻译也是够夸张的了，这和美国人的性格很相似。如果你听惯了英式发音，再去听美式发音，你会发现美式发音也比英式发音要夸张，可以用"抑扬顿挫"来形容美式发音了。
She said it was a school night and that we had to get home right that instant. So that meant we were gonna have to make a run for it.
她说现在可不是假期，明天还要上学，马上给我回来。这就意味着：我们得开始逃难了。
这句话里用了反译。
Gonna的原型是going to, 表示"将要"的意思。如：I am gonna go. 相当于 I am going to go. 意思是"我要走了。"
由于美式口语的语速很快，经常会出现吞音或变音现象，于是就出现了一些根据口语发音拼写的单词，最为常见的是与to搭配的动词短语，如gotta, wanna, wanta…
gotta = have got to
wanna = want to
wanta = want a /an
I looked out the window, and this time, I didn't see the truck. But I knew those guys were hiding somewhere and were just trying to draw us out.

without: 这里是指"在没有…的情况下"（发生或做某事）
