欧阳中石，1928年生于山东省泰安市肥城。著名的学者、教育家、书法家、书法教育家。首都师范大学教授、中国书画国际大学董事局名誉主席、学术委员会主席、博士生导师。欧阳中石是中国当代艺术大师，欧阳中石既是一位学问家、又是一位教育家。高中毕业后在济南某小学任教教过各个年级。上个世纪50年代初，年轻的欧阳中石考取了辅仁大学哲学系，一年后进入北京大学哲学系，主修中国逻辑史，拜在逻辑学大师金岳霖的门下。
1954年，欧阳中石毕业于北京大学，开始在中学从事基层教育工作。他教过中学的各门课程，深得学生敬重。在长期从事中学教学的实践中，他对语文教学中长期存在的一些问题进行了积极深入的思考，运用他敏锐的目光和明辨的思维，以及对中国语言文字特点独到而深刻的理解，提出了一套科学的语文教育改革方案，并在中学试点，取得了令人瞩目的成果，得到了各界的一致好评。
