The Wolf and the Crane
狼與鶴（上）
A hungry Wolf eats a big, fat Sheep.
一隻飢餓的狼吃了一隻又大又肥的羊。
Wolf: Yummy! That was delicious. Now I'm full.
狼：嗯！真好吃。現在我吃飽了。
But a little while later, the Wolf feels something in his throat.
可是沒過多久，狼感覺到喉嚨裡有什麼東西。
Wolf: Uh hum. (clears throat) What's wrong? There's something stuck in my throat. Oh no! It must be a bone. It hurts so much. I must get it out. But I can't.
狼：呃，咳（清清喉嚨）怎麼回事？有東西卡在我的喉嚨裡。哦，不！一定是塊骨頭。真疼啊！我一定要把它弄出來，可是弄不出來啊。
The Wolf tries hard to take out the bone, but nothing works.
狼想方設法想把骨頭拿出來，可是都沒有用。
Wolf: It doesn't go down. It doesn't go up. I can't do anything. I need help.
狼：這骨頭咽不下去，也吐不出來，我沒辦法了，得找人幫忙。
The Wolf looks around for help. He finds a Rabbit.
狼四處求救。他找到了一隻兔子。
Wolf: Hello there, little Rabbit. How have you been?
狼：嘿，小兔子，最近好嗎？
Rabbit: It's a Wolf! I better run!
兔子：狼！我最好快跑！
Wolf: Don't run away! Listen to me for a minute. I have a small favor to ask.
狼：別跑！聽我說一下，我想請你幫個小忙。
Rabbit: What? A favor? What kind?
兔子：什麼？幫忙？幫什麼忙？
Wolf: Well, there is a bone stuck in my throat. It hurts so much. If you take it out for me, I'll do anything for you.
狼：是這樣的，有一根骨頭卡在我的喉嚨裡，很疼。如果你幫我把它取出來，我願意為你做任何事情。
Rabbit: Take out a bone for you? How?
兔子：幫你把骨頭取出來？怎麼取？
Wolf: By putting your paws in my mouth.
狼：把你的爪子伸到我的嘴裡。
Rabbit: That's dangerous. How do I know you are not tricking me? You could bite off my paws.
兔子：那太危險了。我怎麼知道你不是在騙我？你可能會咬掉我的爪子。
Wolf: I am telling the truth. Please trust me. I'll do anything.
狼：我說的是真的，請相信我。我會為你做任何事的。
Rabbit: Let me see. It is very tempting. But no, thanks. I would rather live. I don't trust you. Bye.
兔子：讓我想想，你的條件的確很吸引人，但是，不了，謝謝你。我寧願選擇活著。我不相信你，再見。
Wolf: No, wait! Please, don't go!
狼：不，等等！拜託，不要走！
The Rabbit just hops away. The next day, the Wolf's throat hurts more and more. This time he finds a Sheep.
小兔蹦蹦跳跳地走了。第二天，狼的喉嚨更疼了。這次他找到了一隻羊。
Wolf: Hello there, Miss Sheep.
狼：你好，羊小姐。
Sheep
: Oh please, Mr. Wolf! Don't eat me!羊：哦，拜託，狼先生！不要吃我！
Wolf: Don't worry. I won't eat you. I just need your help.
狼：別擔心，我不會吃你的。我只是需要你的幫助。
Sheep: My help? What kind of help?
羊：我的幫助？什麼樣的幫助？
Wolf: Please take this bone out of my throat. It hurts so badly. I can't eat. I can't breathe well.
狼：請幫我把這塊骨頭從喉嚨裡拿出來，疼死我了。我現在不能吃，也喘不上氣。
Sheep: That's too bad. But why would I help you? You ate my friend yesterday. And you might eat me today. Good-bye.
羊：那太糟糕了。不過，我為什麼要幫助你？你昨天吃了我的朋友，你今天可能會把我也吃了。再見。
