The Donkey in the Lion's Skin
披著獅皮的驢子（上）
A Donkey is walking through the forest one day. He is feeling sad because the other animals always tease him.
一天，一頭驢正在森林裡散步。他感到非常傷心，因為其他的動物總是取笑他。
Donkey: I look too weak. A lion looks very strong. I wish I were a Lion. Then the other animals wouldn't tease me anymore.
驢：我看起來太弱不禁風了。獅子那麼地強壯。我要是隻獅子就好了。然後其他動物也不敢取笑我了。
The Donkey keeps talking to himself while walking. Then he steps on something. He stops to look.
驢邊走邊自言自語。然後他踩上一團東西。他停下來細細觀察。
Donkey: Oh my goodness! It's a Lion! Please don't kill me, Mr. Lion. My meat is no good. I will be your slave. Please! Please! Please! Just this once, don't kill me!
驢：噢，天哪！獅子先生，請不要殺我。我的肉不好吃。我會成為你的奴僕。拜託!拜託!拜託!就饒我這一次吧，不要殺了我！
The Donkey closes his eyes in fright and is shaking all over. But there is no answer from the Lion. The Donkey becomes curious and carefully opens his eyes. The Lion is still there, but it does not move at all. The Donkey steps closer to the Lion.
驢子嚇得閉上眼睛，渾身發抖。但是獅子沒有吭聲。驢很好奇，定睛一看。獅子還是在那裡，但它一動不動。於是驢慢慢地靠近獅子。
Donkey: Hey, it's just a Lion's skin. Jeez! Thank goodness! But who left it here? Oh, that's not important. Let me see.
驢子：嗨，不過是張獅子皮。天啊！謝天謝地！誰把獅子皮放在這裡的？哦，那不重要。我得仔細看看。
The Donkey looks at the Lion's skin carefully.
驢仔細地看了看這張獅子皮。
Donkey
: It has a head, a body, legs, and a tail. It has everything. It even has paws and sharp teeth. It looks real. This is fantastic! I will try it on.驢：有頭，有身體，還有腿和一條尾巴。各個部位都齊全了。甚至有爪子和鋒利的牙齒。看起來跟真的一樣。太棒了！我一定要穿上試試。
The Donkey puts on the Lion's skin and goes to a nearby pond to look into the water.
驢子穿上獅子皮，到附近的池塘裡照鏡子。
Donkey: Wow! I look like a real Lion. What can I do with this?
驢：哇！我看起來像一頭真正的獅子。有獅子皮我能幹點什麼呢？
