例如：
In addition, they do not match very much. 除此之外，他們兩人並不十分般配。
We met some friends and other people in addition. 我們遇見幾位朋友，還遇見其他一些人
in addition to 除……之外。
例如：
We play football in addition to basketball. 除了籃球外，我們還踢足球。
In addition to English, he has to study a second foreign language. 除英語外，他還得學第二外語。
其中的to為介詞，所以後接動詞作賓語時要用動名詞。
例如：
In addition to giving a general introduction to computers, the course also provides practical experience. 課程除了大致介紹電腦知識外，還提供實際操作的機會。
當主語後跟有in addition to引出的介詞短語時，謂語動詞仍與其前的主語保持一致。
例如：
The teacher, in addition tohis students, was interested in the book. 老師和他的學生都對這本書感興趣。
