英語不是這麼學的：May I take your order?
1. -Do you have a reservation?
您有預訂嗎?
-Yes. The reservation is under Mr Li.
是的，是以李先生的名字預訂的。
2. Can I take your order?
可以為您點餐嗎?
3.What is the specialty of the house?
餐廳特色菜是什麼?
4.Do you want to separate check?
您要不要分開付帳?
首先，我們承認：這些英語還算得上“很實用”、“很地道”一類的英語，學起來就能用。
只是英語不是像上面這麼“學”的：英語不是不能用中文學，但是，是不能只用中文“學”的。
為什麼？就是因為這樣“學”充其量也只是“學”，或“學了”，或“學過”，或“學完了”，而你最關鍵的地方：你的英語能力，尤其英語思維，英語輸出能力，就算你學得再多、時間再長也都根本沒有得到任何“訓練”，也沒有產生任何改變。這正是我們十年八年學英語最要命的地方！
正確的學習，我更願意使用“訓練”二字，應該是這樣的：
在你“用”中文“懂得”它中文意思後，你還要繼續“用”“英語思維”表示“我懂了”，讓你的“英語思維”能力發生得到訓練，發生改變。
一定帶有“英語思維”，其實所謂的英語思維沒有那麼深奧和神秘，開口說出來的有聲“英語思維”就是我們平時說的“英語口語”。
最後，不要用“基礎差”，“詞彙量不夠”，“語法少”等等小學生思維的藉口拒絕訓練用英語思維學英語：沒有人是“等到”詞彙記夠了，語法學夠了，基礎紮實了才會心安理得“信心滿滿”轉向用英語學英語的：多少才叫“夠”，“度”在哪裡？你學母語時是不是先把中文單詞都“記夠”了，語法“學夠”了才開口跟人說中文？
二、英語思維學英語：May I take your order?
1. -Do you have a reservation?
Okay.I got you.I know what to say and how to say it now:
If I am a waiter and if I want to know whether or not you place an order before ou came here,I’ll say Do you have a reservation? Do you have a reservation?
在這裡，你既學到，或聽懂了服務員的工作英語：Do you have a reservation，更重要的是，你又同時訓練了你的英語口語能力：Okay.I got you之類的英語。
這些都是高中英語，你既然能學Do you have a reservation，難道就能說Okay.I got you嗎？
-Yes. The reservation is under Mr Li.
Okay. I got you.If I already made a reservation before I came, I’ll say The reservation is under Mr.Li. Is under Mr.so and so.Okay.I got you.
為什麼非得要“說”中文才能學英語The reservation is under Mr Li呢？
2. Can I take your order?
Okay.I got you.I know what to say and how to say it now.
If I’m a waiter and if I want to know if you’re ready to order you food,I’ll say Can I take your order or May I take your order?
我們剛開始都說：用“英語思維”學英語難！問題是你說這句話之前，實踐過沒有？其實，所謂的“英語思維”學英語基本都是那麼一些固定的、反覆使用的工作語言，變化不大，使用幾次就熟練了。關鍵是必須開始使用它們。
3.What is the specialty of the house?
Okay.I got you.I’ll say What is the specialty of the house if I want to know what is the best dishes in the restaurant.I got you.
4.Do you want to separate check?
Okay.I got you.If I’m the waiter and if I want to know how they’re going to pay,I’ll say Do you want to separate your check?
To separate your check means you pay for your own bill and I’ll pay for my own.
這樣的“英語思維”學英語不是難的問題，是有沒有人這樣訓練過你的問題。多訓練幾次：無它，熟爾。
