在4月12日晚結束的USAD 2020 美國學術十項全能線上中國站的頒獎儀式中，成實外國際部的同學力壓群雄，獲得傲人成績。

If people stop talking about environmental protection one day, then either the issue is solved or human beings are just killed by ourselves. See, the environmental issue is one of the most heated topics nowadays, because it is directly related to the perpetuation of human beings. And not being exaggerating, we humans may really end up spoiling all the natural resources and ruining our ecosystem in a short run.
Are people gradually getting more aware of the seriousness of the escalation of environmental pollution? Yes, that is taken for granted. What is noteworthy is that, there is more young blood in the course of pursuing environmental restoration! A 16-year-old Swedish girl named Greta Thunberg became the most famous among them.
Greta is a young radical environmentalist. At first, Greta stopped attending school, sitting in front of the Swedish parliament for three weeks with a board next to her saying “stop school for the environment”. Later on, her name has become the headlines of newspapers. The 16-year-old teen alleged that the nation leaders were depriving the younger generations from bright futures. She said there should be a change in our current mechanism, though she didn’t elaborate much about.
However, later she was accused for seemingly contradictory behaviors. News reported that after Greta traveled from US back to Europe by rowing a boat across the ocean, however, this very boat was then transported back to US by airplane. People were criticizing her move which seemed to symbolize formalism, saying she was just keen on fame. Donald Trump dismissed this girl as a political tool. Greta Thunberg, this name suddenly became the representative of evil formalism, of pseudo-environmentalists, of political tools.
Now, here I want to say something for Greta Thunberg. After I heard her story, at the beginning, I also thought that this girl was just being fond of the limelight. But, after thinking for a while, I realized this girl didn’t deserve all these accusations.
I am neither agreeing formalism is good nor admitting that seeking fame is a nice choice, but what I do admire is her courage to voice out. Sure, voicing out is not enough at all to stop all this, but, what if we don’t even dare to speak up? Think about ourselves, have we done something more than drawing a mindmap themed “going green” ? This Swedish girl, however, felt obliged to warn those leaders, to inform them “hey, you haven’t done enough to stop this planet from getting worse”. Without these warnings, there will be more countries withdrawing from The Paris Agreement, there will be more nations quitting from Kyoto Protocol, there will be more nations that treat the future of this planet as a joke.
So, as for us, we do not need to imitate her movements, all we should do is dare to do what we can. Speak up for environmental protection, or even just, ride a bike to school, use water in a recyclable way, anything you can learn even from a primary school kid’s poster.
I am still optimistic about humans’ future, for I see more and more youngsters like Greta are trying to make a change to protect this planet on which we hang out with friends, have disputes with our family, and have someone so special that we want to spend a lifetime with him or her, all on this planet that we call “mother”.

本次USAD2020中國站，聚集了來自全國近
200所學校、300支隊伍，近2500名學生（線上參賽），其中，一共拿到演講金牌的只有11人，獲得率為0.4%！千分之四的獲得率足見本次金牌的含金量！況且不僅僅是演講金牌，劉同學作為雙金選手，面試金牌同樣被他收入囊中！據悉，整個西南地區只有兩位同學有此殊榮！

美國學術十項全能（United States Academic Decathlon）作為美國首屈一指的綜合學術活動與測評平臺，迄今已經擁有50多年運營歷史及學術積澱，每年都有超過20000名頂尖高中生參與其中，被譽為“通往世界名校的主題通識學術挑戰”。
USAD每年會圍繞一個主題，通過跨學科的主題探究性學習，讓學生在10個不同的學術領域充分展示知識與技能。從而啟發學生的學科興趣，培養團隊、溝通、創造和思辨能力，為學生創造一個頂尖的全球化成長平臺。

In Sickness and in Health: An Exploration of Illness and Wellness
（生命的光與影：探索疾病與健康）
你將有機會從社會科學、語言和文學、藝術、音樂、科學及經濟等方面，進行關於疾病與健康的深入探索。
傲人的成績背後，是同學們的不懈的努力。原定2月初的線下比賽，由於疫情的關係進行了延後處理，大家也改為居家學習。期間有的參賽同學因為種種原因退賽，而成實外國際部的多位同學堅持到了最後。而之前分好的隊伍由於部分同學退賽，要重新分工磨合，相互適應配合。期間過程可謂艱苦卓絕，同學們在排除萬難後能取得這樣的成績實屬不易！

在各類國際競賽中，我們希望學生可以把所學知識轉化到實踐當中，學以致用。在國際化賽制中公平競爭，也能鍛鍊學生的抗壓能力和鍥而不捨的奮鬥精神！同時，在比賽中，更可以讓學生結識來自不同國度的優秀青年。
此次榮獲雙金，是對同學們日常努力結果的印證，更是體現出成實外國際部特色課程的優勢所在：我們培養的學生將在這裡的日常所學作為工具去和世界溝通、去解決問題，去探索未知，而各類比賽、應試的好成績與好分數則是這個過程一個最自然不過的、附帶的禮物。
為了讓同學們開拓國際視野，增進全方位能力，近兩年，成實外國際部組織同學們參加了眾多競賽項目，並且取得了優異成績。以下是成實外國際部近兩年獲得的各類賽事獎項：
