接受彼此的不同意見
普遍認為這個習語源自美國的文學作品(1785年)。
當時出現的詞彙為agree to differ，直到後來才衍生出 agree to disagree的用法，意思是“雖然彼此不同意對方的意見，但同意接受這個狀況，不再強求說服對方”。
