with在英語中用法繁多，其主要用法大致如下：
（1）翻譯為“和…在一起，和，同，跟”。
比如：
①Mr. and Mrs. Smith were there， with their three small children.
史密斯夫婦和他們三個年幼的孩子都在哪兒。
②Would you like to go to the theatre with us？
你願意和我們一起去看戲嗎？
（2）表示兩種事物之間的相應關係或齊頭並進，意為“隨著。”
①With time passing by， they have grown into big boys and big girls.
隨著時間的流逝，他們都長成大小夥子和大姑娘了。
②Temperatures vary with the time of the year.
溫度隨著時節而變化。
（3）表示“帶有，帶來，帶走，攜帶”等，表伴隨。
①The waiter arrived with a cup of coffee.
服務員端著一杯咖啡來了。
②He came downstairs with his coat over his arm.
他把外衣搭在胳膊上走下樓來。
（4）引導一個表示方式的狀語。
①The stranger spoke with a foreign accent.
那個陌生人說話帶外國口音。
②He looked at me with frown.
他皺著眉頭看我。
（5）指原因或理由。
①She was shivering with cold.
她凍得直髮抖。
②The small child trembled with fear.
那個小孩嚇得直打哆嗦。
③ His face was red with anger.
他氣得臉通紅。
（6）用，使用
Cut it with knife.用刀把它切開。
好了，說完了with的用法，咱們再來看看by的用法吧。
by的用法：
（1）表示“不遲於（某時間）”。
比如:
We have to be home by ten o＇clock.
我們10點鐘之前得到家。
（2）表示“在…期間；處於某種狀況”。
①They decided to travel by night.
他們決定在夜間旅行。
②We walked through the palace gardens by moonlight.
我們藉著月光穿過御花園。
（3）表示觸及或抓住人體或物體的某一部分。
He seized me by the arm.
他抓住了我的胳膊。
（4）表示“通過，使用；經由（…路、入口、門等）”。
①You can reserve the tickets by phone
你可以通過電話訂票。
②They came in by the back door.
他們從後門進來。
（5）含有“以…的幅度；差…”的意思。
①This one is shorter than the other by three inches.
這一個比另一個短三英寸。
②We lost the match by one goal.
我們以一球之差輸了那場比賽。
（6）表示買賣東西所按以計算的數或量，或付酬所按以計算時間。
Milk is sold by the pint， butter by the pound， and eggs by theozen.
牛奶論品脫賣，黃油論磅賣，雞蛋論打賣。
（7）表示“按照…”或“根據…”。
①By my watch， the time is half past eleven.
按我的表，現在是11:30。
②By the expression on his face， he seemed to be displeased.
從他的面部表情來看，他似乎不高興。
