3月9日当天全省新增确诊病例1例,为东莞市报告境外输入病例1例。截至北京时间3月10日12时,除中国外,109个国家和地区累计确诊32555例新冠肺炎,累计死亡878例。沙特对九国实施旅行禁令并停飞往返航班,包括阿联酋、韩国、意大利和伊拉克。

Guangdong reported one new infection yesterday—an imported COVID-19 case in Dongguan—bringing the total number of infections in the province to 1,353.According to the Dongguan Municipal Health Bureau, the 19-year-old female student, who studied in Spain, departed from Spain by air on March 7 and arrived at Hong Kong International Airport on March 8. No temperature abnormalities were found when she crossed the Shenzhen Bay Port. She was later tested positive for the virus via nucleic acid test on March 9.


As of March 10, six close contacts of the case have been tracked down, and the case has been reported to Hong Kong health authorities, according to the Guangdong provincial health commission.


Beijing also reported one new import of infection yesterday, and the total number of imported COVID-19 cases in China has reached 69 as of March 9, according to the National Health Commission.

Chinese mainland reported 19 new COVID-19 cases, 17 new deaths (all in Hubei province) and 1,297 more recoveries yesterday. As of March 9, Hong Kong has reported 115 confirmed cases (including three deaths) , Macao 10 (all discharged from hospitals), and Taiwan 45 (including one death).

As of midday March 10 (Beijing time), 32,555 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported outside China, according to People's Daily. There have been confirmed infections in 109 countries outside China with 878 deaths.


696 confirmed infections have been reported on Diamond Princess cruise ship as of midday March 10.

Cyprus confirmed its first two COVID-19 cases on March 9, which means all EU members have reported infections. To slow down contagion, many countries have stepped up efforts and updated their containment measures.


Italy announced on March 9 that measures to stem the spread of COVID-19 will be extended to the whole country, according to People's Daily. Schools across the country will be closed until April 3, and all sports events, including the Serie A soccer match, will be temporarily canceled.


Israel announced late on March 9 (local time) that it will impose a compulsory 14-day quarantine on those arriving in the country from abroad, including Israeli citizens and foreign nationals. El Al Israel Airlines also will suspend international flights over coronavirus concerns.


Saudi Arabia banned its citizens and residents from traveling to nine countries and suspended flights to them, CCTV.com reported yesterday. The countries included the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Lebanon, Syria, South Korea, Egypt, Italy and Iraq. It also denies the entry of those coming from these countries.


Tunisia will suspend all flights and shipping to Italy except to Rome.


The Philippines on March 9 declared a national public health emergency over the coronavirus outbreak. As of March 10, the Philippines has reported 35 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
